Fleas

We treat all carpets, mats, bottoms of wardrobes, edges of vinyl (i.e. Kitchen, laundry, bathroom, toilet), over any tiled areas, wooden floors and pet bedding. We treat with a synthetic pyrethroid and an insect growth regulator (IGR). IGRs sterilise part of the life cycle

process and stop some from hatching out but there is a certain part of the cycle that cannot be penetrated and these will hatch out and then be killed by the adulticide.

The adults present at the time will be killed by the adulticide and any hatchouts later will be controlled very quickly with the residue on the carpet.

The product will remain on the carpet to kill off future hatchouts as they occur. Hatch outs can be expected up to six weeks afterwards.

Treat cats and dogs for fleas with Advantage, Advocate, Frontline or any of the latest products purchased from a veterinary clinic are recommended products. Whilst pet stores do sell some of these products they also sell other products that are not as effective so

purchase from a veterinary clinic as the veterinarian will have decided on what products to stock based on knowledge of ingredients and efficacy.

Alternate flea treatments to prevent any possibility of resistance build-up to the same ingredient. Do not always use the same one. Alternate between two or even use more different ones.

Recommended treatment for animals is usually every 4 weeks but during very hot summer months it can be necessary to treat fortnightly for a short period.
